Welcome to our September Prayer Diary. Please join with us in praying into our specific areas of ministry and the projects we
are involved in. Our heart is that we can help to make Jesus known in every opportunity given to us and to help you to do
the same.
MORE TO LIFE – REACHING ADULTS
• This month sees the launch of our More to Christmas Card campaign. The aim of the More to Christmas card is to make it
easier than ever for believers to start sharing their faith. Containing the More to Christmas testimony DVD and a Bible
verse (John 3:16) the card is a great tool for churches and individuals to use in outreach this Christmas. Publicity has been
sent out and information is on the website (www.mtlresources.org/mtccard.htm), so as churches are planning their
Christmas outreach please pray that this is well received and that the interest shown in this project throughout the year
turns to fruition. Significant income is still required to fund this project to get the cards produced so please be praying for
God's provision. This project has massive potential to help many, many people gain an understanding of who Jesus is and
what Christmas is all about?please pray that this is exactly what happens.
• On September 18th the More to Life ‘Unlock the Power of the Church’ day conference takes place. Being held at Streatham
Baptist Church, London, its intention is to envision and equip believers in faith sharing. Please pray for Dennis Pethers as he
prepares for speaking at the conference and for the rest of the team as practical preparations take place. Pray also that
many people will attend and be challenged as to how God wants to use them and their story to impact the lives of those
around them. (More info at www.mtlresources.org)
• On the 19th September, Dennis travels back out to the US for four weeks where he will be leading two More to Life
'Rooftop' experiences, where he will be training people in evangelism in Richmond,Virginia and in Philadelphia. He will also
have preaching opportunities and meetings in Virginia, Illinois, New York, Atlanta and Pennsylvania. Significant interest is being
shown across the US as More to Life develops into a culture of faith sharing and production of Hispanic versions of the
resources are well under way. Please pray that God uses Dennis and these resources to lead many people to Christ. Pray for
safe travel for Dennis and pray also for his wife, Lynne, as they are apart.
CHECK IT OUT – REACHING YOUNG PEOPLE
• New Optimum volunteers will be joining the Check it Out team in October this year. Please be praying for the confirmed
volunteers,Tom Tonks, Andrew Kidby and Jonny English, as they prepare for giving their time and gifts to serving God over
this coming year. Pray also for some willing hosts who can provide accomodation for them for the year.
• Andy and Joy are taking a retreat this month to spend time with God and seek His guidance for the next steps for the Check
it Out ministry. Please pray that will has amazing times in God's presence and that they will hear so clearly from Him.
ARISE MINISTRIES – REACHING CHILDREN
• Continue to pray for the use of the new‘Journey to the Centre
of the Christmas Pudding’ resource as churches are planning
their Christmas outreach. This event will be a great, fun way to reach out to children with the message of Jesus this Christmas.
• Pray for Ed Jones as he develops the new 'More Than Just a Child' strategy. This is intended to help churches develop new
and existing children's work into more effective programmes that will help them to share with children the life-changing
message of Jesus in fun and exciting ways.
SCHOOLS TEAM MINISTRIES, BASILDON (STM)
• As a new school term begins, please pray for Kirsten and the team as they go in to schools around Basildon to take
assemblies, lessons and children's clubs showing what it means to live as a Christian and the difference Jesus can make.
VIZ-A-VIZ MINISTRIES – IN GENERAL
• Praise God for our supporters – for their spiritual support and financial contributions.
• Many opportunities are opening up for us proclaim the gospel to all ages – in the UK and internationally, but we do need
increased support both through prayer and finance. Please pray for God's blessing and provision as we continue to seek to
do His will.

Welcome to our August Prayer Diary – a slightly different one this month where we would love for you to join with us in
praying into our specific areas of ministry and the projects we are involved in:
MORE TO LIFE – REACHING ADULTS
• Preparations are continuing for our More to Life ‘Unlock the Power of the Church’ day conference on September 18th. Being held at Streatham Baptist Church, London, its intention is to envision and equip believers in faith sharing. Please pray for Dennis Pethers as he prepares for speaking at the conference and for the rest of the team as practical preparations take place. Pray also that many people will attend and be challenged as to how God wants to use them and their story to impact the lives of those around them. (More info at www.mtlresources.org)
• Last Christmas we launched the ‘More to Christmas’ testimony DVD, which was very well received. This year the DVD will
be available in a Christmas card to provide an easy way to share the Gospel with people, through the stories of lives
changes by Jesus and a Gospel presentation from Dennis on the DVD. Please be praying for this project – a lot of interest
and excitement has been shown in ‘giving a card with a purpose’ this year and using More to Christmas in outreach, but
significant income is still required to fund this project. Please pray that God will move people to provide funding and
support this project so we can produce publicity and the cards – we strongly believe that this resource will aid churches in
helping people to see that Jesus is relevant in their everyday lives.
• Please also be praying for the international developments of More to Life. A lot of interest is being shown in the More to Life
resources in many countries around the world and already Hispanic versions are being produced. God has really been taking
the lead in these developments and we are just trying to keep up – especially Dennis as he is doing a lot of international
travelling to attend conferences and meetings. Amazingly, the costs of Dennis’ travelling are being covered by our More to Life
publisher, LifeWay. Pray that we can know God’s wisdom and discernment as we move forward with this so that ultimately
many, many people will come to know God.
CHECK IT OUT – REACHING YOUNG PEOPLE
• The main project that our Check it Out (CIO) team is involved in this month is Leading Edge – a Baptist, family holiday
week, in Warwick, packed full of great worship, teaching and entertainment.
The week runs from the 9-15th August and the CIO team are leading the ‘Innovation’ venue for 11-15s, where they will be
looking at Jesus’ teaching of the Beatitudes. The team head off to start setting up on Friday 6th August and then have a very
busy week with the young people. Previous years at Leading Edge have seen amazing movements of God and many, many
young people’s lives being changed—please pray for the team and the young people that they will all have their lives
impacted by God this year and leave Leading Edge feeling inspired to make a difference for Him.
ARISE MINISTRIES – REACHING CHILDREN
• Arise Ministries are also heavily involved with Leading Edge this month with team members working with children of all
ages. Various venues for different aged children will have programmes crammed with worship, teaching and great activities
relevant to them. Please pray for the children that they will discover who God is at their young age and will begin a life-long
journey in following Him. Pray also for the Arise Ministries team as they deliver these busy programmes.
• Also to pray for this month – Arise Ministries has just launched its latest children’s resource for 7-11s: ‘Journey to the Centre
of the Christmas Pudding’. Please pray that this resource will help churches to share with children in a fun and exciting way
the real, life-changing meaning of Christmas. (More info at www.ariseministries.org.uk)
