February

1-3 Dennis and Rich are in Virginia, US, and are involved in a lot of important meetings regarding the development of More to Life in the US. Please pray God guides and opens doors. • Ed Jones is meeting with Helen Wordsworth (Central Baptist Association Regional Minister) to discuss possible links with Arise Ministries.

2 The team meet to pray together from 9-9.30am. Please join with us in prayer. • The Check it Out (CIO) team receive ministry training from Sheila Martin today – pray for openness to learn and develop personally.

3 This week publicity is being prepared and will be sent out shortly advertising a More to Life event in September called, ‘Unlock the Power of your Church’. This event aims to encourage churches to engage in a period of outreach around Christmas using the new More to Life Training and Discovery courses and More to Christmas DVD. Please pray that those who God wants to come to the event do come.

4-7 Den and Rich are speaking at Blizzard, a Youth Conference in Toronto, US. Please pray that God really blesses the whole time.

5 CIO present a concert at St John’s Church,Taste singer Becca Ceaser’s home church in Crowthorne. Pray that many young people will come and have their lives impacted by the Gospel.

6 The CIO team are at a Spring Harvest planning meeting. Pray that God leads the planning and discussion today so the best possible programme can be put together. The team are leading the 11-14s at the Minehead venue, week 2 (8th-13th April).

7 CIO are back in Crowthorne to lead the service at St John’s Church.

8 Junior SOLID planning meeting today – pray for the development of ideas for the theme and spiritual content of the day. • Dennis is in New York meeting with potential ‘cluster’ leaders for More to Life to run the project in their area.

10-11 Today Dennis is meeting with More to Life cluster partners from New York, Pennsylvania,Virginia, LifeWay and the North American Mission Board.

11 Ed Jones is meeting with Ian Bunce of the Baptist Union of Great Britain to discuss links with Arise Ministries.

11-12 The CIO team have been booked by Oak Grove Chapel to do schools work in school in Sewell Park Middle School and Catton Grove Middle School, Norwich. Pray that as a result of these two days many young people will go to a CIO concert on the 13th where the team can present the Gospel message.

12-14 Dennis is in Philadelphia meeting with potential ‘cluster’ leaders for More to Life to run the project in their area.

13 The CIO team follow up the couple of days in school with a concert where the young people can hear how Jesus can change their lives.

14 The CIO team are leading the service at Oak Grove Chapel in Norwich

15-19 CIO team running an activities week at Oak Grove Chapel.

16 The team meet to pray together from 9-9.30am. Please join with us in prayer. • Rich is meeting with Kevin Bennett of Premier Christian Media about Love London and More to Life – please pray that More to Life in the UK keeps moving along within God’s purposes.

17 Ed Jones is having a ‘quiet day’ today where he will be seeking God’s plans and purposes for Arise Ministries.

18 Please pray for Alan Cass, our new Executive Director, and Alan Hough, our new Financial Administrator, as they work to assist and develop the ministries here. Thank God for them and pray that God blesses them with wisdom in all the decisions they have to make.

19 Schools Team Ministry, Basildon (STM) are presenting a new assembly. Please pray that it will plant seeds in the young people’s lives so that they would want to find out more about God.

20 Rich will be manning a More to Life stand at Premier Worship event, please pray God will lead him in conversations.

21-26 The CIO team are delivering a schools’ week at Deanes School,Thundersley, Essex. Pray that young people will challenged in their life styles by the Christian witness of the team this week.

22 Pray for the CIO team – for health and strength, good relationships and coping with tiredness through 12-16 hour days.

24 SOLID Youth Festival planning meeting today. Now in its 15th year, please pray that this year’s SOLID will be even more special than previous events. Pray that the team can put together an exciting and challenging weekend when young people can come to know God for themselves.

25 Arise Ministries Trustees meeting today. Pray that God will lead this ministry as it seeks to equip churches to reach children with the lifechanging love of Jesus.

26 Pray for the CIO concert tonight at the Deanes School which concludes the schools’ week there. Pray that loads of young people will want to go as a result of the teams’ work in the school this week and that they will be impacted by the Gospel.

27 It is hoped that Viz-A-Viz Media will be able to produce an Hispanic More to Life testimony DVD. Please pray that if this is God’s will that He will enable it to happen.

28 Ed Jones is spending the day with Sandy Baptist Church, where he will be leading a family service in the morning and training Sunday
School workers in the afternoon.

March

1 The new More to Life Training Kit is released today. Pray that this resource to be used widely to equip people to share their faith with those around them.

1-6 The CIO team are delivering a schools’ week in Brixham,Torquay.

2 The team meet to pray together from 9-9.30am. Please join with us in prayer. 2-15 During this time, Dennis will be involved in teaching, equipping and More to Life meetings in Texas, the BWA Conference in Washington, Nashville and New York.

3 Praise God for His on-going provision for the ministries here. Pray that He will continue to provide and encourage more people to support the work we do.

4 Pray that Rich will find more people with testimonies of how God has worked in their life who would be willing to share their story for the More to Life ‘Wind of Change’ radio show aired each Saturday at 7pm on Premier, (also available anytime on their online on-demand service - www.premier.org.uk/ondemand.aspx).

5 Pray that STM can get their secondary school lunch club going again. Pray that God will remove all obstacles and barriers so there can be a great Christian presence in the schools in Basildon.

6 Pray for the development for two new Arise Ministries resources which will help in outreach to children at Easter and Christmas time.

7 Ed is involved in a ‘Play and Praise’ event where Arise Ministries is partnering with N:Vision. The repeating event consists of 45 mins play and 30 mins praise. Arise Ministries will running the Praise sessions.

8 Junior SOLID planning meeting. Pray that the team can organise yet another fantastic event this year for the children where they can have great fun and encounter Jesus throughout the day.

10 SOLID Youth Festival main marquee planning meeting and SOLID Exec meetings take place today. Please pray for God’s guidance and wisdom in these meetings. Pray for the Exec as they plan the future of SOLID as a Trust and for the appointment of SOLID staff.

11 Rich Powney is driving More to Life in the UK this year. Pray that as he takes on this new project he keep focused on God, trusts in Him in everything and remembers that anything is possible when Gods involved!

12 Dennis is in New York on the last leg of this trip. Pray that he is well, has a positive time there and that God protects him as he travels home on the 15th.

13 Andy and Joy are speaking at a Girls’ Brigade Conference on use of the CIO resource – pray for inspiration and effective communication.

14-19 CIO schools’ week at Berwickshire High School, in partnership with Scripture Union, Scotland. Pray for safe travel, high energy levels and good health for the team as they embark on a very busy couple of weeks.

15 Pray for STM that they will be able to raise enough money to continue the great work they are doing in schools and also for wisdom in appointing a second worker to work with Kirsten and expand the ministry they are doing.

16 The team meet to pray together from 9-9.30am. Please join with us in prayer. • Ed Jones is manning an Arise Ministries stand at the Church of England Children’s Advisor Conference. Pray that people will recognise how Arise can help them in their outreach to children.

17 Pray for the admin team as they support and facilitate the ministries.

18 Pray for our Optimum Gap Year volunteers as they have to make decisions about what to do after their time working with us.

19 Continue to pray for Alan Cass as he leads the strategic direction and day to-day management of the organisation.

20 Pray for Andy and Joy as they lead the CIO team. Pray that God equips them to grow and encourage the Optimum volunteers and that they have the strength to lead the CIO schools’ weeks and tell young people about Jesus.

21 Ed is running the Hastings half-marathon raising money Arise Ministries. • The CIO team are involved in leading prayer and worship at ‘Strictly Come Praying’, a nationwide initiative run by Scripture Union Scotland.

22-26 CIO schools’ week at Alloa Academy, in partnership with Scripture Union, Scotland. Pray for continued passion and inspiration for the team as they deliver their second schools’ week in Scotland.

23 The team meet to pray together from 9-9.30am. Please join with us in prayer.

24 As part of the More to Life-Love London partnership, Love London breakfast meetings with the team and church leaders will have started. Pray that Rich Powney meets with people and has great God-led conversations that will result in more people knowing God.

25 Dennis is travelling back out to the US to continue the development of More to Life. Pray that these trips will fulfil God’s purposes and further His Kingdom.

26 Many opportunities are developing for us to share the Gospel – praise God for this and ask that He equips us to fulfil these opportunities.

27 Pray that the STM after-school clubs would continue to bear fruit. Praise God for how children have already learnt about Him through these clubs.

28 Pray for Dennis as he will be travelling a lot internationally this year. Thank God for the ministry opportunities he is providing and pray that God will protect him as he travels. Pray also for Dennis’ wife, Lynne, as they will often be apart.

29 Pray for Simon as he is busy designing evangelistic resources and working on our communications. Pray that God will give him inspiration and creativity so what is designed will have a great impact.

31 The CIO team has seen hundreds of young people throughout February and March who will have heard about God and how loves them. Pray for these young people that they will want to find out more about God’s love and that there will be people around them who can continue to teach them.
