Having been to Gorleston at the beginning of this year at the invitation of Unite Check it Out were invited back for Treat, an event put on to attract young people who might otherwise have nothing to do when all their friends are celebrating Halloween. Taste and Diversion were bringing an alternative to an event which is probably the most inappropriately named event in the history!

From 25th – 30th October the Check it Out team had an awesome at Hawkell Baptist Church leading an activities week with their young people.  Here’s what happened:

SUNDAY:
We arrived at 2pm on the 25th to set up in the church for our very first activities week with the new team. Plied with tea, coffee and Maltesers we set to work to transform the church into a venue which would be hosting 11 young musicians and 7 young actors for a week of activities during their half term holiday.

Latest news from Dennis Pethers on his More to Life trip in the US:

St Louis – Westside Missionary Baptist Church

I spoke at the first ever ‘Missions conference’ at the church – this was attended by around 50 people (which the pastor Ronald Bobo was very encouraged by). My session was on witnessing and I spoke through the four story approach of More to Life. Those who attended were really challenged by the session and it is likely that the church will use the More to Life DVD and other resources.
