So the final Leading Edge has drawn to a close and this will sadly leave a big hole in the calendar for the Check it Out team. For many years now this event has been a highlight of the year for the team as they get to spend a week worshiping with and ministering to many young people and seeing God move in incredible ways in their lives. Around 40 young people, 20 young leaders and another 10 mature leaders make up Livit camp, with the Check it Out team helping with leading this worship, teaching and activities week.

The kids were pretty diverse with a whole group of them from Zacs, a youth group where they are pretty much unchurched with little involvement in worship—but having youth leaders who are totally committed to them, loving them, mentoring them and nurturing them.  For this group of young people, when they come to Livit it is their only opportunity to experience sung worship and teaching and so it is always … Continue Reading

Our Check it Out and Arise Ministries teams are running the youth and children’s venues at this weekend’s Baptist Assembly in Plymouth.  Please be praying for them as they arrive and set up their venues and that God will use them in amazing ways this weekend!

The Check it Out team have been back on the road again, this time to Spring Harvest Minehead to head for ‘Distinctive’, the youth venue where they met around 500 young people aged 11-14.  Andy was worship leader and Joy pastoral co-ordinator which involved making sure that any of the young people who came to the event had the opportunity to talk through and pray about any issue, struggle or challenge they are facing.  It also involved helping individuals on the team to see their role as friend, leader, mentor grow and develop over the week as the get alongside the young people…. Here at the office we were treated to a very brief and increasingly rare sighting of the Check it Out team this week! But of course it’s a good thing that they’re rarely seen here because that means they’re either out in schools or at festivals presenting to young people how amazing Jesus is, or they’re having a well earned break from their incredibly busy schedule. Already this year the team have been running schools’ weeks in: North Berwick, Peterhead, Thundersley, Berwickshire, Falkirk and Alloa as well as presenting concerts in Chelmsford, Crowthorne, Radcliffe and a huge prayer … Continue Reading

Our awesome Check it Out youth team have been in schools in Peterhead and North Berwick, Scotland over the last two weeks. Packed timetables of lessons, music and drama presentations and concerts meant the team has met hundreds of young people over these two weeks. It’s such a priveledge to be able to serve God in this exciting way.

On Sunday 8th November the Check it Out team set out on a three week schools mission tour to Oban, Hawick and Bradford where they would be presenting lessons and assemblies during each week, culminating in a concert where the gospel message could be shared.
